New Wooden Cutlery! Our new wooden cutlery is made from FSC certified wood. This certification, forestry Stewardship Certification, ensures that the wood for the cutlery is coming from forests that were logged to the highest standards possible internationally. for more information on FSC certification please visit: www.fsccanada.org This item is not certified as compostable. However most compost facilities we have spoken to feel that wood is an excellent source of carbon to add to their compost. Please check with you compost facility before sending or ask us to communicate on your behalf!

Please note: we discontinued sourcing plant starch based cutlery after testing a competitors cutlery marked 'compostable' on the forks, knives and spoons. Their cutlery was determined to contain mostly plastic. This led us to also scrutinize other suppliers. We are not confident at this time that cutlery coming from Asia, with claims of compostability and being made from plants, meets the highest standards for qualifying as truly 'green' and compostable.
