About Us

The Waste Reduction Store started from the desire to reduce landfill waste associated with disposable food containers made from polystyrene, plastic and paper that are not recycled. It was the first Canadian company to specialize in the distribution of certified compostable food ware and the promotion of Institutional, Corporate and Industrial composting.

Founder and CEO Kathleen Licoppe (Boylan) started her environmental path in the 1988-89 lobbying for environmental changes at her university, St-Francis Xavier. After visiting and then living in Africa, Asia, Central America, and throughout Canada, she became even more resigned twenty years later to step up and change things through business.

Today The Waste Reduction Store maintains distribution of certified compostable products and works with cafeterias, restaurants, institutions and numerous businesses and non-profits to help them switch from conventional take out containers and cups. Its committed client base benefits from preferred pricing and the peace of mind that a green watchdog assures customers that the products and information they receive is unparallel.

Kathleen Licoppe (Boylan) continually searches the planet and networks to seek out solutions that will bless this planet with innovation and change that will leave it better than how we found it. The Waste Reduction Store intends to revolutionize how food service impacts our world. Join our efforts by contacting us today!
